How long does it take following my employment offer before benefits are active?

Benefit eligible employees Benefits become effective up to 90 days after their start date. For example, if you are hired January 16th, your benefits will become effective on April 1st.

Employees may log-on to the Coventry Healthcare of Florida website to review a listing of medical providers and facilitites in the Coventry Network.

How many vision plans are offered by the School Board?

BCPS now offers the option of four vision plans available from two vision carriers. The two carriers providing service to the District's employees are Humana/CompBenefits and Solstice/Davis Vision. Both carriers offer a Basic and Enhanced Vision Plan. In and out-of-network benefits are available from both carriers.

How many dental plans are offered by the School Board?

BCPS now offers the option of four dental plans available from three dental carriers. The three carriers providing service to the District's employees are Humana/CompBenefits (Basic and Enhanced PPO/Indemnity and DHMO Managed Care), MetLife (Basic and Enhanced PPO/Indemnity), and MetLife/SafeGuard (Basic and Enhanced DHMO Managed Care).
