PERSONNEL INVESTIGATION
 
When an incident of serious misconduct is reported involving a School Board employee the Principal and/or the Administrator shall: Personnel Investigation Form

  1. Contact the office of Broward District Schools Police Detective assigned to your site. If you do not know who your detective is, contact
(754) 321 - 0725.
  2. Conduct a preliminary investigation into the allegation and collect written statements and any evidence, including video, available.  
         
  3. Submit the completed Personnel Investigation Request form with supporting documents to the Chief of Police of the Broward District Schools Police Department via fax at (754) 321 -0736   4. Contact the appropriate Chief School Performance & Accountability Officer and report the incident.  
         
  5. When the request is authorized for investigation, notify the employee in writing after receiving the notice sample letter.   6. A Detective will be assigned to the conduct the investigation and will contact the initiator of the investigation request.  
         
  7. Contact the assigned Detective and/or the Chief of Police if any new information is learned regarding the incident.   8. Refer any press/media to the Chief of Police or Chief Information Officer.  
         
  9. F.S. 231.291 Personnel files require the confidentiality of any complaint or material relating the the investigation of a complaint against an employee until the conclusion of the preliminary investigation.
