This week’s readings and activities will provide a deeper understanding of the uniqueness of gifted boys and girls, while presenting strategies to ensure that all gifted students are being taught equitably and fairly. Social pressure to attain ideals of masculinity and femininity often work against the development of talent in gifted students. An understanding of gender and giftedness is necessary if we are to help all gifted students through the critical “milestones and danger zones” that can significantly affect their future development and career choices.
