Describe all intervention strategies employed by the school to improve the academic performance of students identified by the early warning system.
Strategies include:
1. Utilizing the curriculum, assessment, remediation and enrichment process to identify students who are in of academic support based on formative assessments results
2. Teachers provide students with remediation in the specific contant standards
3. Students use an academic progress monitoring report that is submbitted the grade level counselor. This report is signed by the parent as an accountablity measure.
4. Students are provided with opportunities to attend Saturday tutoring or participate in one of the aftershcool programs (21st century or YMCA) where they are able to receive homework help and additional academic supports.

School improvement is based on a continuous improvement model, using research-based accepted best practices, which align with student
achievement needs, insure student progress, and may be revised when appropriate.

Goals
As evidenced in the SES Band Data, which content area(s) will be the focus for improving student achievement and why was this area chosen?
The content area that will be the focus for improving student achievement is English Language Arts and Math. These content areas were chosen as the student population received a proficiency score % in ELA. Forty-four percent (44%) received learning gains which was a 2% drop from the previous year. Students in the lowest quartile dropped by 9 points for a proficieny score of 28%. In Math 41% were proficient 44% received learning gains (-1 decrease) and 35% of students received proficieny in the lowest quartile which was constant from the previous year.

Parkway regularly monitors the progress of students academic needs through diagnostic data, common assessments, curricululm, assessment, remediation and enrichment academic plans, FAIR testing, BAT, FSA, EOC and EOY quarterly and/or yearly exams.

How does the school ensure the fidelity of students not progressing towards school and district goals?
Parkway offers afterschool, Saturday enrichment and tutoring programs to ensure student progress towards academic profiency. Teachers conduct data chats and collaborative discussions during PLC to ensure the academic success of students not progressing towards academic goals.

How does the school ensure that all classroom instruction is accessible to the full range of learners using Universal Designs for Learning (UDL) for effective instructional design (planning) and delivery (teaching)?
Teachers discuss instruction practices in their PLCs and professional development. Teachers discuss various way to differentiate instuction to meet all students' needs.

Describe texts used for core, supplemental, and intervention programs at each grade level. How does the school ensure students have access to a balance of literary and informational text in a variety of mediums?
Students will have access to core content informational texts through a variety of resources including hard copies and online digital resources. The school will implement an interdisciplinary school-wide literacy plan and provide content area teachers with professional development to ensure that students receive information through a variety of mediums.

How does your school implement the Broward County Public Schools Social and Emotional Learning Standards to ensure students are developing social and emotional skills?
Social Emotional Learning is implemented through the curriculum across core academic disciplines and further supported through the curriculum of after school programs. Teachers are provided with ongoing training and support through SEL professional learning communities and district workshops. SEL is monitored through data collected, feedback from administration, teachers, guidance, support staff and students.

In which ways are the five competencies of the Social Emotional Learning explicitly taught and/or integrated school-wide and in the classroom?
Social emotional learning is integrated through classroom instruction and through a school-wide social emotional learning plan. Through the implementation of these initiatives, students are taught skills and strategies on managing emotions and behavior, achieving personal and academic goals, developing social awareness, how to maintain positive relationships and how to demonstrate positive decision-making. The five competencies are implemented through classroom instruction, through guidance initiatives, peer counseling and through the curricula of the afterschool programs

How does your school-wide policy and practices support the social emotional learning for students?
Students are provided skills and strategies that will enable them to process complex emotions, managing stress, controlling impulses and how to overcome obstacles in a variety of situations. Through the SEL curriculum, students learn to set goals and monitor their own progress toward the achievement of personal, behavioral and academic goals.
