What elements will be addressed?

Staff have consensus and engage in MTSS Implementation

Why is it occuring?

Our staff is still evolving in the process of understanding MTSS/ RtI is a general education implementation.  Most of the staff does not realize they can also submit names to the MTSS team for review.  This will help students who are struggling (emotionally, academically, behaviorally) to get the support they need to become college and life ready when they graduate from Everglades High School.

What are we going to do about it?

We are going to provide staff professional developments on MTSS and how they can engage in the MTSS implementation.

Action Plan

During pre- planning week we conducted an in- house professional development on our MTSS/ RtI process for Everglades High School.  We will have the district come in and also conduct a training on MTSS/ RtI.

Transparent communication with our staff about students who have been submitted to the team for review and continous communication for the staff about MTSS and how they can help their struggling students.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Our MTSS/ RtI team will be able to measure our success based on the support and help our struggling students are recieveing. Students who do qualify for an evaluation can find success from their TIER strategies moving from 1 -- 3.  Once a TIER strategy is put in place that is providing the accomodations that are giving the student success both in an out of the classroom, we will have reached success with this child.

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 academic practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

Our MTSS team is still in the emerging/ developing stategies of looking across tiers; using that data to identify gaps between expected student outcomes and current student outcomes.

What are we going to do about it?

Our MTSS team will diseggerate the data to identify why students are not meeting expectaions.  Plans will be based on verified reasons why students are not meeting expectations.

Action Plan

The MTSS team will provide recources and support for teachers to identify student occuring across content areas, grade levels, and tiers. We will study the data from behavioral plans or student progress monitoring plans to ensure we are seeing higher performance across our school's diverse groups.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

To monitor and measrue our success we will have individual teachers, guidance counselors, and the MTSS team will meet to discuss if a students specific academic or behavioral goals are being meet.  Attendance, grades, social, and emotional behaviors of the student are key indicators of their progress.  We will have thier Tier 2 academic or behavior practices include common student needs are linked to Tier 1.  If a Tier 3 intervention is needed; we will have their Tier 3 academic or behavior practices are based on students' needs aligning with Tier 1 and Tier 2.

WIth these processes and systems in place we will see our students have academic or behavioral success giving the Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 supports.
