Goals

As evidenced in the SES Band Data, which content area(s) will be the focus for improving student achievement and why was this area chosen?

As evidenced in the SES Band Data, ELA content area will be the focus for improving student achievement.  ELA Gr 3-5 proficiency of 37% lags behind Mathematics Gr 3-5 proficiency of 57%.

What specific BEST Practice(s) will be implemented or scaled-up to improve teaching and learning in order to increase performance within the SES Band?

Several BEST Practices will be implemented or scaled up to improve teaching and learning.
1.  Implement Accelerated Reader Gr2-5.  Utilize STAR diagnostic for student reading independent level
2.  Utilize iReady K-5 - Tier 1 Instructions through small group instructions
3.  Implement DBQ Gr 4 & 5  Tier 1 Instructions
4.  Core Curriculum Writing - Professional Development Teacher Training to enhance Tier 1 instructions

Describe in detail how the BEST Practice(s) will be scaled-up.

1. Professional development training will be provided to teachers in ELA.
2. Standards Mastery Bullentin Boards will be utilized to showcase student competencies.
3. Readers Theatre workshop will be utilized to engage students.

What specific school-level progress monitoring data is collected and how often?

Quarterly Data Chats
BAS Assessments
Mid Year BSA Assessments
iReady Diagnostics (Beginning, Mid Year and Final)

How does the school ensure the fidelity of students not progressing towards school and district goals?

Students who are not progressing towards school goals are monitored through the Rti process and/or IEP goals.

Please complete this section based on 2018-2019 end-of-year results.
Instructional Implications: Discuss the success of specific strategies/activities and provide a rationale as to why those academic improvements occurred as a result of those strategies.

The specific strategies and activities provided an increase of 11% in ELA for 2018-19 school year (37% increase to 48%).  Effective instructional strategies - Interactive Read Alouds and Guided Practices using the Fontas and Pinnell continuum were the most effective of the strageties implemented.
