Plan Type

By June 2017 Village Elementary School will decrease the number of unexcused absences and tardiness by 10% utilizing our Pinnacle attendance record keeping program in adherance to Policy 5.5.  
Throughout the year we will maintain contact with family members, medical providers, and social service workers to elicit their support to encourage daily attendance.

Purpose of Plan:

The purpose of the Student Attendance Intervention Plan is to identify the reason(s) for a student’s truancy, document the previous steps taken by the school to address the student’s truancy problem, and develop the plans necessary to improve the student’s future attendance

Unexcused Absences

  • Call the parent / guardian to apprize them of the concern of absences  


  • Advise parent that you will be sending a letter to document the concern for absences
  • Generate the letter include the dates and times of the excused absences


  • Enlist the support of the School Social Worker to contact parents and provide guidance in this matter
     

 

Excessive Excused Absences
(5 or more in a single month)

  • Generate the letter include the dates and times of the absences


  • Enlist the support of the School Social Worker to contact parents and provide guidance in this matter

Tardiness

  • Call the parent / guardian to apprize them of the concern of excessive tardiness
