School improvement is based on a continuous improvement model, using research-based accepted best practices, which align with student achievement needs, insure student progress, and may be revised when appropriate.

Goals

As evidenced in the SES Band Data, which content area(s) will be the focus for improving student achievement and why was this area chosen?

Based on the 2018 FSAA data and SES Band, The Quest Center will be focusing on English Language Arts (ELA). In the area of English Language Arts, the highest learning gains in our SES Band scored a 45% in ELA learning gains our ELA learning gains were 25%.

What specific BEST Practice(s) will be implemented or scaled-up to improve teaching and learning in order to increase performance within the SES Band?

The Quest Center will utilize Professional Learning Communities to review and analyze student learning via Common Formative Assessments. Based on the collaboration of grade level and team teachers teachers will provide data-driven instruction based on the results of three week Common Formative Assessments.

Describe in detail how the BEST Practice(s) will be scaled-up.

Teachers will submit three week pre and post-test data to administration. While in PLC, teachers will discuss student learning /achievement and successful instructional strategies. Teachers will also during PLC ensure that the assessments and activites are aligned with the learning goal.

What specific school-level progress monitoring data is collected and how often?

Pre and post Common Formative Assessments are used as school monitoring data. The data is taken weekly.

How does the school ensure the fidelity of students not progressing towards school and district goals?

Studnets who score a 75% or below on the first test recieve a nother full week of remediation instruction and have an opportunity after the week to take the post test again.

How does the school ensure that all classroom instruction is accessible to the full range of learners using Universal Designs for Learning (UDL) for effective instructional design (planning) and delivery (teaching)?

An instructional coach is assigned to each teacher for a two week period. The instructional coaches conduct at least one 30min observation and provide strategies to improve the planning and delivery of instruction.

How does the school ensure Tier 1 Standards-Based classroom instruction is being implemented properly and effectively?
