The leadership team is actively facilitating implementation

Why is it occuring?

This year we have several new members on the leadership team, including a new Principal and two new Assistant Principals.  Our RTI chair is one of our guidance counselors and she has set up trainings for our new RTI committee.   All members need to update their BASIS log in information and passwords.

What are we going to do about it?

The RTI committee members will continue to meet and attend various trainings throughout the year.
They will share the strategies with staff.

Action Plan

The committee will meet weekly to discuss training opportunities  for tier 1,tier 2, and tier 3 strategies.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will print out monthly data to review data trends on the various tier interventions so we can plan more profssional learning during mini workshops at school.

Data-Based Problem-Solving

Current Average

Goal Average
For 2018 - 2019
1.9
What elements will be addressed?

Data are used to identify reasons why students are not meeting expectations

Why is it occuring?

We have approximately 25 new staff members this year that need supplemental training on using BASIS documentation and learn Tier 1 strategies to implement in the classrooms.  Additionally, our score from last year was below a 2.0 average, being that using data to drive decisions had not always been used properly.
This year, we will have district staff attend some of our RTI sessions and mini-workshops.  Data chats will be conducted each quarter with administration and our leadership team members.  This will ensure data based decisions will be utilized more often during each quarter, which will assist our RTI team.

What are we going to do about it?

During faculty meetings, RTI members will share the bullet points on how to make data-based decision making.  A minimum of two mini-workshops will be held each quarter in our curriculum training room.  The administrators will conduct grade level meetings every two weeks with data based decision making  on every agenda.
Data tracking sheets will be given to each teacher to be placed on our filemaker database in utilities so we can analyze areas of growth and weaknesses.  The RTI team will utilize more reseaacrh-based interventions with data and progress monitoring quarterly.

Action Plan

By November, 2018 there will be an increase of data based decision making strategies in each classroom by at least 5%.  Each Department Chair and Team Leader will lead data based discussions during their meetings and classroom walkthroughs.  Teachers will discuss their class data at team meetings and will post the minutes for their grade level administrator.
By January, 2019, there will be a student data checkpoint day where each teacher discusses student data and students will graph it on their data folder.  Team leaders will record a team average for each clas on mini-assessments given and will post it to our school's Filemaker database.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The RTI team will check BASIS and the Filemaker databse to ensure data is posted for all Tier 1 students in a timely manner.  RTI referrals will be analyzed using data-based decision making.
Sign in sheets for data trainings will be maintained by each administrator as well as any district trainings attended by staff.

Three Tiered Instructional /Intervention Model

Current Average

Goal Average
For 2018 - 2019
2.1
What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 academic practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

Many of our new staff members were unaware of BASIS and the 3 minimum interventions to be used when infractions come up against school-wide expectations.  Common issues in the classroom were disruptive behavior, coming to class tardy, and disobedience to staff in hallways and classrooms.
There was only two trainings on CHAMPS during the school year at our school, and some teachers were noit present on the days it was scheduled.
There are questions from the staff on who should be receiving Tier 2 strategies from Tier 1 interventions.  The RTI committee has new leadership this year,
The committee is working towards setting up training for staff to identify the differences between tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 interventions.

What are we going to do about it?

This year, we will hold monthly trainings for new teachers and bi-monthly trainings for other staff members on BASIS, CHAMPS, and tier 1 strategies for the classroom.
Discipline logs will be maintained on our filemaker databse and quarterly discipline data will be analyzed by the RTI and Leadership team members.
Team Leaders will create unified team rules/consequences, and rewards for classroom behaviors.

We will bring in Ms.Walker, disrict RTI person to address te various tier levels and strategies.

Action Plan

By December, 2018 there will be at least two staff mini-wrokshops on BASIS, CHAMPS, and Tier 1 strategies for behavior.
By February, 2019, there will be grade level assemblies to show discipline data trends from 1st quarter to 2nd quarter and team leaders will revisit their team interventions database.
By April, 2019, the RTI team will analyze their tier 1 students' progress on BASIS and Pinnacle.
By April, 2019 the RTI team will prepare a presentation on Tier 2 and Tier 3 strategies.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Grades will be analyzed by team, as well as disicpline reports from Administration.  The discipline reports will be analyzed for trends in strengths and weaknesses of student discipline at the tier 1 level.  Academic success will be shgared by Guidance Counselors such as percent making honor roll each quarter and the percent decrease in D's and F's as grades.
