What elements will be addressed?

The principal is actively involved

Why is it occuring?

Due to having other school issues to attend to and having MTSS meetings in the guidance office, principal was unable to attend meetings.

What are we going to do about it?

Move location of meetings

Action Plan

We now hold all MTSS meetings in the principal's office so she is able to attend meetings and still deal periodically with the other school issues. She is readily available to front office staff and available to address emails and phone calls when needed and is able to attend the majority of our meetings.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We circle all members' names on the agenda who are present at our meetings.

What elements will be addressed?

Coaching is used to support MTSS implementation

Why is it occuring?

No in-depth training was available for the staff to fully understand the MTSS process particularly in the area of inputing information into BASIS. The grade chair of each grade level was given additional training to assist with their team members, but it became apparent that ALL teachers needed the additional training.

What are we going to do about it?

Add additional training for teachers on how to input data and supply them with sample copies of graph templates  that can be used to record monitoring data.

Action Plan

Our RTI facilitator will be conducting a training session for our staff this year. Additionally we have added data chats with each teacher every 6-8 weeks at which time they will meet with assistant principal, literacy coach and counselor to monitor the students in the lower 30th percentile and assist with entering teacher strategies (TIER 1) and referrals to CPST if these strategies are not successful.  At that time initial meeting notes and initiation of TIER 2 interventions will be discussed.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

A sign in sheet will be collected at the training by the RTI facilitator for verification of attendance and notes on the data chats will be recorded.
