What elements will be addressed?

Processes, procedures, and decision-rules are established for DBPS

Why is it occuring?

As students arrive to Hollywood Central from different areas around the state or even around the country, processes, procedures, and decison-rules must be monitored for effective data based problem solving. To help identify students with academic or behaviorial needs, the MTSS team will monitor student(s) by providing them with strong Tier 1 instruction. Processes and procedures will be in place to make sure parents are fully aware of the process and the students are provided with appropriate interventions that will make them sucessful.

What are we going to do about it?

Students who arrive to Hollywood Central that have no summative data (Reading/Math) through the district will be assessed by the classroom teacher or the interventionist to gather where their strengths and weaknesses are in math and reading. If the student is severely deficit in Reading/Math the MTSS team will begin the collaboration process to determine which intervention yields the best results. The Benchmark Assessment System (BAS) will be administered three times a year based on Broward County Public School's guidelines.

Action Plan

  1. Emails will be communicated with the staff specifically what must be brought to meetings.
  2. Teachers will need to bring data and information that is needed.  (Perhaps create an RTI folder what is expected.  Examples and Non-examples.)
  3. Norms and Expectations of the process will  be written to the staff.
  4. Send out a general schedule to the staff.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Hollywood Central will monitor all students by reviewing the intervention data and school-wide data frequently during quaterly data chats to determine if the students gaps between expected and current outcomes are closing. If the academic, behavorial data, or school-wide data suggests the interventions or assessments is not moving in a positive direction, the MTSS team will collaborate again to determine the next steps in order to benefit the whole child.

What elements will be addressed?

Plans based on verified reasons why students are not meeting expectations

Why is it occuring?

As students arrive to Hollywood Central from different areas around the state or even around the country, processes, procedures, and decison-rules must be analyzed throroughly to understand why the student(s) are not meeting grade level expectations. During MTSS Meetings, the MTSS Team tend to discuss the students academic or behavioral data but the team tends to not discuss at length as to why the students are not meeting expectations.

What are we going to do about it?

Hollywood Central will make sure data-based problem-solving processes are in place for student outcomes occurs across content areas, grade levels, and tiers to identify gaps between expected and current outcomes. During the MTSS Meeting, the team will discuss, analyze, and develop the data used to determine verified reasons as to why students are not performing or meting grade level expectations.

Action Plan

  1. Teachers will need to bring data and information that is needed.
  2. The MTSS Team will allocate time sufficient time during the meeting to determine what the reasons could be why the student has a gap between the expected and current outcomes. The MTSS Team will continue to modify or develop the plan.
  3. The MTSS Team will determine a reasonable time for the next follow-up meeting. If the student continues to have a gap between the expected and current outcomes, the evalution step will be implemented immediately.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Hollywood Central will monitor the students success by reviewing the intervention data frequently during MTSS Meetings and School-Wide Data Chats to determine if the interventions are working appropriately. Hollywood Central's Leadership team will continue to progress monitor academic, behavior, and social-emotional goals specified in intervention plans are continously monitored for effectiveness by implementing quarterly data chats where the students identified amongst the TIERS are being monitored to determine if they are making adequate growth. If the student is not making adequate growth, the MTSS Team will determine what the appropriate action steps would benefit the whole child.
