1.      Applicants who have completed the requirements by the deadline dates outlined below will receive an email identifying the scheduled Substitute Teacher Orientation approximately three (3) days prior to the scheduled clearance appointment. We will attempt to accommodate your preferred orientation date of

You MUST go in person to the Broward School’s Security/Fingerprint Office:

Security/Fingerprint Office – 1st Floor, 600 SE 3rd Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33301

Nonrefundable Fingerprinting Fee:  $70.00 (Visa/MasterCard or Money Order)

Fingerprinting WILL NOT be provided on the day of the event.

Official transcripts from an accredited college showing at least 60 semester hours of completed course work. Applicants who have submitted official transcripts that confirm at least 60 semester hours to the Instructional Staffing Department within the past 12 months can bring unofficial transcripts to the orientation.

 

Two (2) completed letters of reference, even if previously submitted to the Instructional Staffing Department.  References must be signed and dated. One of the references must be from the candidate’s most recent employer or cooperating teacher (for education graduates). *Copy of Substitute Teacher Training Certificate of Completion (if applicable). Training is required for applicants who are not education majors or do not have experience as a teacher or substitute teacher. Please complete ONE of the following:

*The certificate of completion from the training course is NOT the substitute teacher certificate.

Substitute Teacher Certificate: $20.00 Fee (Money Order Only) –Payment is required if candidate does not have a valid Florida Teaching Certificate or Broward County Substitute Teacher Certificate. Candidates that have a valid Florida Teaching or substitute teacher certificate must provide a copy.
