Introduction
Modern cinema has been flooded with an abundance of horror flicks and mysteries. These films all pay homage to the father of gothic literature, Edgar Allan Poe. From The House of Usher to The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe has been tantilizing the world for almost two centuries.
The Task
Become acquainted with the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe through internet based research and participating in Westglades Middle School's Poe Days Celebration. A part of your presentation include:
* a timeline of major events in Poe's life
*a cast of characters
*graphics to illustrate the theme of the work you will be presenting
* summary of your assigned text
The Process
To accomplish the task, you will first be assigned to a team
based on the literary work you will present at the Poe Days Celebration.
Your group must become an expert on Poe's life and the events that later
affected your literary work. Visit the following links to find out more
information about Poe's life. Once you have finished your research, come
back together as a team and create a timeline of important events from poe's
life that affected his works.
Second, your team needs to read and research one of the texts
our Readers Theatre scripts is based on. Visit your link in the Poe
library to read your literary work and find links to help you research the work
itself.
