YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION
Distribution for PRE-PURCHASED yearbooks ONLY will be done on May 16 during 7th period for Seniors and on May 17th for grades 9-11. Only pre-purchased books will be distributed.

YEARBOOK SALES
Yearbook SALES will be on May 21st out of room 215. They will going on sale at 7:00 am for $80, cash only. After that date they can be purchased during lunch ONLY from room 720 for the same price. Books are sold at a first come/first serve basis.
 

EOC (End-of-Course) Assessments
Parent/Guardian Letter

The 2013 Spring EOC (End-of-Course) Assessments will be administered on April 29-May 30 to students enrolled in US History, Biology, Algebra I/IA/IB and Geometry.

EOC (End-of-Course) Test Dates
April 29-May 3 US History EOC
May 6-10 Biology EOC
May 13-17 Algebra I EOC
May 20-28 Geometry EOC

Students - The state has passed legislation that may impact how End of Course exams affect your final grades and graduation options. Therefore, it is important that you put forth your very best effort on these exams.

On April 22, the Governor signed into law SB 1076 which provides multiple diploma options for students, effective July 1. This legislation will effect how the EOCs impact student grades and graduation status/options. However, how this new legislation will be implemented has yet to be communicated by FDOE.



1st Broward County Eco Challenge
West Broward won 1st in the Innovative category.
Mr. Junco won 3rd in the High School Teacher Category
Kaitlynn Ramirez won 2nd in the High School Student Category for Project Primal
Kyle Guske won 3rd in the High School student category for his biofuels work


Kaitlynn Ramirez, Kyle Guske, Jonathan Lo, Jeroen Poelstra, and Mr. Junco are honored at the first annual P3 Eco Challenge for their Project Primal club and Biofuel research.

 

Tickets will be on sale Thursday, May 9th through Wednesday, May 15th during lunch.

 

 

The Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) hosts one $1,000 athletic scholarship per school in the county for scholar athletes.
 Jennifer Siranni was one of seven students selected from the athletes in the senior class at West Broward to attend the banquet.  
 

West Broward, once again, is loaded with county All-Stars for the Spring seasons.

Flag Football - The game was played on May 8th - Jessica Sammarco and Kristen Artamendi represented West Broward on the South Team.

Softball - The game will be played May 14th at Cooper City, game time is 7PM. West Broward will be represented by Emily Obier and Jackie Gonzalez

Boys Volleyball - The game will be played at Monarch on May 16th at 7PM. Harrison Albert and Michael Calderon will be on the South team - Plus Coach Cameron is also an All-Star, coaching the South Team!

Baseball - The game is at Nova High School on May 22nd at 7PM. Danny Pardo and Aires Rivera will represent West Broward on the South Team.

The 2013/14 Parking Applications are now available. Please read the time line and application carefully. Only next year's seniors and future dual enrolled students are eligible to submit an application. This is also a reminder that students are prohibited from parking in any unauthorized community areas. 

 Only the south lot is permitted for students to park with an approved parking permit.  No other location, on or off campus, is approved or permitted for WBH student parking.

Athletic News from AD, James Darr

West Broward is very happy to announce the hiring of new coaches.

Eric Gudger is the new Head Football Coach - Played at Penn State, was a Graduate Assistant at West Virginia, and an assistant position coach at Clemson and Temple. He has strong ties to the community here in Pembroke Pines.

Corey Sarubbi the new Girls Volleyball Coach - Corey is a well respected coach in Broward County having coached at Coral Springs and Sagemont. He is also a Director with Wildfire Club program.

Shannon Bucker - Cofounder of United Rock Nation. Over 14 years experience as a cheerleadig coach, who has won numerous championships at all levels.
