Standard Items

Many standards have been set by the Technology Standards Committee and the District's Purchasing Department. The 2012 Standards Overview describes Broward County Public School's current standards. Click on the links to the left to find the Purchasing Agent and the detailed information for each category.

The Technology Bids and RFPs can be located at the Purchasing website. To view the Bids/RFPs, click on the TECHNOLOGY CONTRACTS to see the list of all the technology items.

Technology Purchasing Standards are needed for the following reasons:

• To Ensure interoperability of all elements of the system.

• To lower procurement costs.

• To simplify maintenance, support, training and asset management that will result in a reduction in the total cost of ownership.

The Technology Waiver Process must be followed if the standard item listed here does not meet your needs. Be sure to follow the process carefully. Here is a copy of the Waiver Form that must be completed.
