DA: Differentiated Accountability was developed by the
Florida Dept. of Education in an attempt to align Florida's
school grading system with No Child Left Behind accountability.
It is a model that requires tiered support based on the needs
and category of the school.
"DA Schools" offer smaller class sizes
designed to help students succeed in school. These schools, many located
in lower socio-economic areas, have been graded a "D"
or "F" as a result of their FCAT (Florida Comprehensive
Assessment Test) scores.
To learn more about the FCAT, access their web site or download
the FCAT Fact Sheet. For more information please go to
www.fcat.fldoe.org.
There are strong support systems for teachers at "DA
Schools". Resources are targeted for the schools to offer the
latest in training and techniques that will enhance a teacher's
skills.
These schools are searching for exceptional teachers who are
interested in working with their student population.
