Welcome to the Family Counseling Center and J.P. Taravella High School!
The Family Counseling Center is located in room 605 on the second floor of Taravella High School, 10600 Riverside Drive Coral Springs (corner of Riverside Drive and Coral Springs Drive.) Our Operating hours are: 7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Friday.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS THE FAMILY COUNSELING CENTER? The Family Counseling Center at Taravella High School offers free short-term family counseling to the families of any Broward County Student.
HOW CAN THE FAMILY COUNSELING CENTER HELP MY CHILD? Family counseling helps families work together successfully to overcome many of the obstacles that interfere with school achievement and positive family life. Family counseling typically leads to better family communication, improve discipline and behavior, and enhanced self-esteem and interpersonal skills.
WHO DOES THE COUNSELING? Taravella's Family Counselors are all licensed clinicians and certified educators with extensive counseling experience. Spanish speaking services are available.
ARE COUNSELING SERVICES CONFIDENTIAL? Services are fully confidential within the limits of the law. The child's school is not notified and teachers are not contacted without the written permission of the parent.
WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION? Any Guidance Counselor or Administrator can tell you more about us or you can call the Center and speak to a Family Counselor directly.
HOW DO I ARRANGE AN INITIAL APPOINTMENT? Parents can schedule an initial appointment by calling Nina Hauser, Office manager, at 754-322-2377 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Day and evening appointments are available. Brochures describing the Family Counseling program are available from your school's guidance counselor.
