The Multi-agency Service Network for Severely Emotionally Disturbed Children and Youth (SEDNET) is a State of Florida, Department of Education endeavor designed to improve the service delivery system to a targeted population of children in Florida who are experiencing serious emotional disturbances. The local Broward (District 10) project is a cooperative effort between the School Board of Broward County, the Department of Children and Families, parents/caregivers, children’s agencies, community mental health centers and other organizations, which serve children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances.

The SEDNET Multi-agency Advisory Board is designed to promote a comprehensive range of educational programs, mental health treatment, and residential services to meet the multiple needs of youth with serious emotional disturbances in Broward County . A multilevel approach has been implemented to work toward this goal. Individual students/youth will be assisted in obtaining the array of services needed to meet their specific needs. Interagency cooperation on an administrative organizational level is necessary in order to enhance service provision.
