Sources of Information

 

This component includes what the student is currently able to do based on a variety of sources.

 

These are objective statements written based on quality data sources which can be found on:

- struggling reader/math charts

- behavioral charts through a specialist

- curriculum based (end of chapter tests)

- observations and many more

Component 2

Impact of Disability

 

This component identifies how the student's disability affects his/her involvement and/or progress in the general curriculum.

 

It is the reason why the student needs special education services.

 

A statement must be written for each area of need arising from the disability.

 

 

Component 3

Priority Educational Need

 

This component is developed from the impact of disability statement(s).

 

It states the skill areas that need to be addressed for the next 12 months.

 

It is the direct link from PLP to Annual Goals.
