Facility Planning / PMCS
Facility Planning / PMCS consists of four individual functional groups: Facility Planning responsibilities include: developing Educational Specifications insuring equitable facility resources; conducting and maintaining the Educational Plant Five Year Survey; allocating relocatables; conducting post occupancy evaluations; Florida Inventory of School Houses (FISH) department maintains accountable building space records and current AutoCAD drawings and aerial photos of existing school sites; Furniture Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) coordinates the establishment and maintenance of a basic furniture and equipment and supplies list for K-12 and the centers, provide furniture and equipment to all facility sites; Project Management Control Systems (PMCS) collects, enters, organizes and maintains Facilities Construction project data used to generate project schedules and status reports.
The major goal of the Department is to insure equitable facility resources by making sure the District's space, facility program, and equipment list standards are up-to-date and utilized when determining the facility needs of the District and developing the project scopes and budgets for the District work program. This is accomplished by:

*Generating and maintaining the District's State Plant Survey.
*As necessary, conduct spot surveys.
*Coordinating the District-wide needs assessment process.
*Coordinating the development of a facility need listing representing Plant Operations, Facilities, ETS,
and Safety Departments for capital funding request.
*Revising and updating the District's Florida Inventory of School Houses (FISH) database.
* Revising and updating all facility site and floor plans including relocatables.
* Generating and revising the District's capacity and generic educational specification Standards for
projects and Policy 5000 and pertinent Growth Management needs.
* Conducting project specific space and program analysis as well as project educational specification development.
* Participating in the Design Review Process to insure designs reflect the intent of the educational
programming and specifications.
* Coordinating the post-occupancy evaluation process.
* Coordinating the generation of a district long-range master plan.
* Maintaining the educational specification standards.
* Coordinating the purchase of basic equipment for all facilities projects.
* Serving as the liaison for the installation of all furniture and equipment associated with major capital projects.
