Quality Improvement Supports (QIS) is a local program that offers quality improvement and provides technical assistance, education, training, and support to teachers and directors of early care centers neighboring Differentiated Accountability elementary schools.  A team of nine master level specialists from Broward County Public Schools and Nova Southeastern University provides ongoing support and resources to early care centers for quality improvement and state accreditation.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Mentor preschool teachers
Collaborate with teachers and directors
Provide on-site training for teachers and directors
Develop professional development and quality improvement plans
Observe instruction and daily activities
Assist teachers in implementing new instruction and skills
Link community providers with neighboring elementary schools
Provide resources for teachers and families
Provide ongoing support to teachers and directors/owners during accreditation and quality improvements
Review ITERS-R and ECERS-R Reports to formulate a plan to improve environments

ELIGIBLITY
Early care providers:
Servicing children whose families receive school readiness funds
Neighboring Differentiated Accountability elementary schools

TARGET
Teachers from selected early care providers

CURRENT LOCATION
63 early care providers neighboring Differentiated Accountability elementary schools

CURRICULUM
Follows the curriculum used at each early care provider site
