HEAD START ATTENDANCE POLICIES
As part of the Head Start Performance Standards, attendance is closely monitored for all children. Children must meet guidelines for daily attendance to ensure the full benefits of the educational program. For children not attending on a regular basis and exceeding number of allowable days of absence, withdrawal from the Head Start Program may be considered resulting in a vacancy.

HOME VISITS
The Head Start Performance Standards requires that two home visits be made by the classroom teacher. In addition to two parent conferences for the year that the child is attending the program. Parent educators are also required to schedule a home visit with parents to provide program information and establish goals that assist families in obtaining services.

PARENT MEETINGS
During the course of the year, Head Start staff will initiate four parent meetings in response to parent surveys reflecting areas of interest. Parent meetings provide information on a variety of topics that include but are not limited to: Health, Safety, Nutrition, Family, and Education. In addition, Community representatives and Head Start staff may conduct workshops for parents to gain knowledge and obtain information related to services and agencies in their community.
