The Head Start Policy Council consists of sixteen members; the membership includes twelve parents of children enrolled in the Head Start program, two parents of children enrolled in the Early Head Start Program, and two community representatives. The Head Start Program provides shared governance between the School Board and the elected Policy Council Members. Head Start parents participating in the Council make decisions related to policymaking, funding allocation, and program management.
