Community Service



Rationale


Piper High School has a responsibility to its students to heighten their sense of global responsibility, their sensitivity to social problems, and to build in them a sense of personal fulfillment through their commitment and caring for others. As members of a society at large, community service:
Provides valuable public benefits Creates opportunities to build stronger partnerships within and outside of the school community Helps us to understand that family, friends, neighbors, local, national and world organizations need assistance. Provides an opportunity to give back to your community. Supports and reinforces our guiding principles.


What is community Service?


Community Service is a service performed to benefit the greater good of the local community. The community service requirements are as follows:

Class of 2006 - 40 hours
Class of 2007 - 40 hours
Class of 2008 - 40 hours
Class of 2009 - 40 hours
