Prevention is Key!

In Broward County Public Schools our goal is to ensure a safe learning environment. Implementing programs that address bullying, making personal connections with each student, and providing an anonymous system for reporting potentially dangerous situations are some of the ways we meet this goal. Welcome to H.D. Perry Middle School Media Center!

Ms. Adames
Media Clerk

The Media Center at H. D. Perry is not only essential to and supportive of our school curriculum, but also provides an instrument for exploration outside the classroom. The Media Center provides a wide range of resources and information to satisfy the needs and curiosity of students as well as meeting the needs of our staff and parents.

We are pleased to provide a place where students may explore, expand their imagination, look into areas of personal interest, while developing the ability to think clearly, critically, and creatively about the resources they have chosen to read, hear, or view.

Our Hours of Operation are as follows:

Regular Days: 08:00 am to 08:20 pm
Early Release Days: 08:00 am to 01:00 pm

Students may use the media center before school, (8:00 am to 8:45 am) and during the day with a written pass in their agendas. Each student must sign in at the circulation desk prior to using the media center resources and show their ID badge.

Students may check out 2 books for 2 weeks and may also renew for an additional 2 weeks.

If a book is overdue and is returned, there is no fine, however the student may be referred to administration.

If a book is abused or lost the student will be asked to pay the replacement cost of the book. A phone call home and written notice will be provided to the student prior to request for payment.

Students can access the electronic resources provided by Broward County Public Schools from any computer connected to the Internet by connecting thru BEEP. The username is the student's ID number. The password is the student's birthday in month/day/year format. For example, a student with ID number 06012345 born on January 1st, 1998 should enter the information as follows:

User ID or Student Number
06012345

Password or
Birth Date (MM/DD/YYYY)
01/01/1998

See the media specialist for the ID and passwords for the online databases and online encyclopedias. They can not be published online.
