Title I Requirements

COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.

The reading and math assessment data from the 2018 FSA Assessment was organized with graphs, tables, and charts. The reading and math FSA
Assessment data was organized to show the school wide, grade level, and individual teacher results which the school leadership team views and discusses
to determine the school's instructional focus for 2018-2019 school year. The teachers were given the results of the students they taught so they can review
and reflect upon their instructional practices. In addition, parents are welcome to meet with the school leadership team to discuss student achievement
results and strategies for increasing student achievement which are discussed with the school's staff and considered for inclusion in the school improvement
plan.

The district's Talent Acquisition & Operations department, as well as a district level Teacher Recruitment Committee work collaboratively to retain and recruit
highly qualified, certified-in-field, educators. Dolphin Bay Elementary School’s collaboration with the district is evidenced by participation in ‘Experience
Broward’ Teacher Recruitment Fairs. Vacancies are filled with candidates interviewed at the recruitment fair and referred by the district's instructional staffing
department. Retention of teachers is a top priority of our school. Teachers are cultivated and nurtured at Dolphin Bay Elementary School to grow
professionally. We retain highly qualified, certified-in-field, effective teachers in our school by utilizing the New Educator Support System led by a NESS
Liaison, Professional Learning Communities led by the Literacy Coach, District Trainings led by district personnel, School-Based Professional Development
lead by Dolphin Bay Elementary School's Leadership Team, and Teacher Recognition and Incentives.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Coordination and Integration

Title I, Part A
Title I funds provide additional teachers to assist students, particularly low performing students.

Staff Development funds are used to develop a comprehensive professional training program to improve delivery of instruction through a variety of
workshops designed to move teachers to mastery and improve student achievement. The faculty of Dolphin Bay Elementary School will attend the following
professional development training for the 2018-2019 school year: BAS, Responsive Literacy, Balanced Literacy, Small Guided Reading, I-Ready, Canvas, Reflex Math, Go Math and TenMarks.

Parental Involvement funds are utilized to fund monthly academic parent nights that provide parents with new skills to support student learning at home.
Improving the frequency and quality of family participation and increasing family literacy are also goals of our parental involvement component. Monies are
used to purchase food, supplies/materials and provide stipends for teacher presenters.

Title I, Part C- Migrant
(Migrant-Title I schools have been advised if Migrant students attend their school)

Currently, Dolphin Bay Elementary School does not have any migrant students but once a migrant student is enrolled we will reach out to the Title 1 Migrant
Department for available resources for the families of those migrant students.

Title I, Part D
Neglected and Delinquent

Dolphin Bay Elementary School follows the district's Positive Behavior Plan in order to deter delinquent behavior from occurring in our school. Dolphin Bay
Elementary School also adheres to the district's Bullying Policy as well as utilizes the Bully Box to identify and address situations of bullying that arise at the
school. The 5th grade students at Dolphin Bay Elementary School participate in the district's S.O.A.R program which is geared towards deterring delinquent
behavior.

Title II
(District professional development)

Teachers at Dolphin Bay Elementary School participate in professional development linked to improved student achievement in the Florida State Standards.
Dolphin Bay Elementary School's faculty will participate in the following professional development linked to improved student achievemewnt in the Florida
State Standards for the 2018-2019 school year: BAS, Responsive Literacy, Balanced Literacy, Small Guided Reading, I-Ready, Canvas, Reflex Math, Go Math and TenMarks.

Title III
(ESOL)

All students are being instructed by certified, ESOL endoresed teachers. ESOL strategies are being utilized by the faculty of Dolphin Bay Elementary School.  Dolphin Bay also provides ESOL push-in services for ESOL students in which the Phonics for Reading program is utilized to build their English language skills.  Dolphin Bay Elementary School will work closely with the district's ESOL Department to ensure that the teachers, students, and families have access to available resources.

Title X- Homeless
(Homeless- All Title I schools may complete with this statement)

Teachers and staff members of Dolphin Bay Elementar School are responsible for helping to identify homeless students and referring them to the Homeless
Education Program offered by the district. The purpose of the Homeless Education Program is to identify homeles students, remove barriers to their
education, including school enrollment, provide them with supplemental academic counseling case managment servies as well as linkages to their school
social worker while maintaining school as the students stable environment.

Supplemental Academic Instruction (SAI)

Dolphin Bay Elementary School will utilize SAI funds to purchase and implement the I-Ready, TenMarks, and Reflex Math programs. Dolphin Bay
Elementary School will also utilize the SAI funds to fund an Before School Academy to assist struggling students.

Violence Prevention Programs

Dolphin Bay Elementary School implements the district's Student Code of Conduct and follows the District Discipline Matrix. Dolphin Bay Elementary
School enforces the district's Anti-Bullying Policy and has a Zero Tolerance Policy for bullying and violence. Dolphin Bay Elementary School builds a bullying
and violence prevention culture through classroom instruction of the Broward County Public School's adopted character traits and the S.O.A.R. program. In
addition to classroom instruction, all Dolphin Bay Elementary School faculty receive training on the Anti-Bullying Policy.

Nutrition Programs

Nutritional programs and health education are an integral part of our school, specifically through the Physical Educational curriculum and federal initiatives
of the Broward County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Department.

Housing Programs

Referrals are made to the school social worker, when parents are in need of housing or food. Additionally, the front office staff takes note of families
expressing a need and passes this information on to administration and/or the guidance counselor.

Head Start

At this time, Dolphin Bay Elementary School doesn't have a Head Start Program.

Adult Education

At this time, Dolphin Bay Elementary School doesn't have an Adult Education Program.

Career and Technical Education

Dolphin Bay Elementary School's fifth grade students attend the JA Biztown each school year which allowed the students to explore different career options
and receive minor training in selected fields. Dolphin Bay Elementary School also has a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) special
class and club which allows students to work through rigorous curriculum and use technology to build skills. Dolphin Bay Elementary School also offers a
Career Day which allows students in all grade levels to be exposed to various career fields.

Job Training

Dolphin Bay Elementary School's fifth grade students attend the JA Biztown each school year which allowed the students to explore different career options

Pre-School Transition

Pre-School Transition

Dolphin Bay Elementary School has a Kindergarten Round Up each school year for the parents of incoming Kindergarten. During the Kindergarten Round
Up, parents tour the Kindergarten classrooms to see what the kindergarten curriculum and expectations look like and so they can begin to become acclimated
to the school. Dolphin Bay Elemnetnary School has a Meet and Greet Orientation prior to the beginning of the school year so the Kindergarten students and
their parents have an opportunity to meet their new teacher, get acclimated to their classroom, and preveiw the kindergarten curriculum and expectations.
