Title I Requirements
COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.
Teachers and administrators at Lakeside came together during preplanning week to review and discuss prior year assessment data from the FSA. Information was organized to show individual teachers, grade level, and school wide results. Teachers analyzed academic achievement results in all core subjects and subgroups including race, gender, economic disadvantages, students with IEP's and ESOL students.

Instruction by HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS in all core content area classes
List instructional staff and paraprofessionals that are NOT highly qualified (instructional staff only).
All instructional staff and paraprofessionals at Lakeside are highly qualified.
|
ATTRACT HIGH-QUALITY, HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS to the school.
Describe strategies that will be used to attract high-quality, highly qualified teachers.
At Lakeside recruitment and retention of quality teachers is a top priority. In order to attract highly qualified teachers we search apple track and conduct family style interviews with our interviewing panel. The family of Lakeside Elementary has a reputation in the community and district, so we pride ourselves in that many teachers would like to work at our school.

Pre-School Transition
Lakeside Elementary School services three classes of Specialized PreK ESE (formerly Preschool Learning Activities Classroom Experience-PLACE) and one Head Start class. The ESE Specialist conducts IEP meetings with all PreK student families to provide vertical articulation during the school year to ensure that the transition from the early childhood programs to kindergarten program is smooth. Also a Kindergarten Orientation is also held prior to the beginning of the school year and these PreK students are included. This gives the incoming kindergarten students an opportunity to meet their new teacher and get acclimated to their classroom. Additionally, parents are given an overview of the kindergarten curriculum and expectations.
