Title I Requirements

Ramblewood Elementary maintains good standings within the community and we have consistently maintained close relationships with our stakeholders.  We attend the Broward Teacher Recruiment fair every spring and have high standards with regard to the interviewing process.  When new teachers are hired at our school, we have a strong support system available to them through experienced teachers on individual grade level teams.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Coordination and Integration

Title I, Part A
Title I funds provide additional teachers to assist students, particularly low performing students.

Professional staff development funds are used to pay for PLC trainings for teachers so opportunities to attend periodic workshops throughout the year (Reading, Math and Science) are provided. 

Parental Involvment Funds are used for grade level Literacy Nights.  These nights include providing materials to parents that can be used to assist their child at home.  Student agendas are purchased to assist with communication between the school and home.

All instructional staff are trained to incorporate WIDA (World Class Instructional Design) standards within instructional practice to reach our ESOL population.

Title I, Part C- Migrant
(Migrant-Title I schools have been advised if Migrant students attend their school)

Currently, there are no Migrant students at Ramblewood Elementary.  If any Migrant students enroll, students will be placed in tutoring already put in place at the school for additional academic assistance.  The school will also collaborate with community agencies to guarantee additional required services are provided.

Title I, Part D
Neglected and Delinquent

Any students identified as neglected or delinquent will be placed with our school Social Worker.  This will ensure that the physical as well as emotional needs of the child are addressed.

Title II
(District professional development)

Teachers at Ramblewood Elementary participate in various District Professional Development sessions.  Teachers are trained at the school as well as attend offsite sessions.  Each session is connected to utilizing the Florida Standards to enhance student achievement.

Title III
(ESOL)

At Ramblewood Elementary, all students are instructed by either ESOL certified or ESOL endorsed teachers.  ESOL students receive additional support from their instructors throughout the day.  In addition, there are sessions offered for ESOL students for FSA test preparation.

Title X- Homeless
(Homeless- All Title I schools may complete with this statement)

Teachers and staff members are responsible for helping to identify homeless students and referring them to the Homeless Education program offered by the district.  The purpose of the Homeless Education Program is to identify homeless students and remove barriers to their education, including school enrollment while providing them with supplemental academic and counseling case management services as well as linkages to their school.

Supplemental Academic Instruction (SAI)

Title I funds will be employed to proivde after-school tutoring sessions for struggling students.  This tutoring will take place during the weeks prior to FSA testing and will be provided by certified instructors.

Violence Prevention Programs

Ramblewood Elementary School applies the Broward County Student Code of Conduct and utilizes the District Discipline Matrix.  Ramblewood provides bullying prevention through implementation by our Guidance Counselor on conflict resolution, bullying, and anger management for students requiring additional assistance.  All teachers have received training on the Anti-Bullying policy and several teachers have been trained on CHAMPS.

Nutrition Programs

Students at Ramblewood Elementary receive pertinent information related to proper nutrition through our Physical Education curriculum and various initiatives of the Broward County Schools Food & Nutrition Department.

Housing Programs

If students are in need of housing or food, referrals are made to the school Social Worker.  If any professional within the school notices a need, the information will be provided to the Principal, Assistant Principal, Guidance Counselor, or School Social Worker.

Head Start

The Head Start Program is used to provide resources to ensure school readiness.  An end of the year report detailing students' ongoing assessment is placed in the cumulative folder of the student, which Kindergarten teachers utilize to determine readiness.  At the present time, Ramblewood does not have a Head Start Program.

Adult Education

Presently, no Adult Education services are offered at Ramblewood Elementary.

Career and Technical Education

Ramblewood Elementary provides opportunites for students to examine various careers through the Sciences in our Robotics program.

Job Training

Ramblewood Elementary utilizes a rigorous curriculum and technology along with career days in which parents/community members discuss their careers.  These opportunites provide students a chance to learn about available careers.  Also, Fifth graders participate in an annual trip to Junior Achievement (JA) Biztown to receive training in various fields.

Other

Interventionist - Funding has been secured to hire an interventionist to provide additional small group support for Reading daily to students.  This individual works closely with students on the Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) program.   

 

Pre-School Transition

Pre-School Transition

Ramblewood Elementary provides screening for Preschool students to determine readiness to transition to Kindergarten or qualify for additional services. This provides teachers with information related to students' knowledge of letters, sounds, concepts of print and writing.  Kindergarten Round-up is provided to familiarize parents with our school.  A Meet the Teacher event is held during pre-planning week to familiarize students and parents with class and school expectations for incoming students.

Parent Involvement Goal:
Based on the analysis of the parent involvement data, identify and define an area in need of improvement.

The goal of Ramblewood Elementary is to increase parental involvement related to school event partipation by 20% (232) for the 2018-19 school year.  Parental Involvement for the 2017-18 school year was 194.  All Parent Involvement activities will include engaging activities which offer opportunities to learn about student achievement and available resources.
