Our school utilizes a variety of techniques to gather a comprehensive needs assessment of the entire school.  We look at assessment data in the following areas:

Student Achievement-
In intermediate grade levels (Grades 3-8) we view, collect and create students related data consisitng of the prior year's assessment such as their FSA scores from the state assessment, BAS (Benchmark Assessment System) running recored data for literacy, i-Ready reading and math online diagnostic assessments, BSA (Broward Standards Assessment) district based test, Schoolcity and Acaletics school and district level assessments to measure students in math, science, and reading.  The literacy, math coaches monitor students on an ongoing basis.  They collect data and use it to assist teachers in targeting students needs and to improve instruction.

In the primary grade levels (Kindergarten-2nd)
Students' progress are measured using a variety of assessments.  The Primary End of the Year Reading Test )district based assessment) for reading is used in the first and second grades to monitor students in the area of literacy.  Also, the BAS (Benchmark Assessment System) is administered 3 times a year to all students in K-3 and only level 1 and 2 students in grades 4-5.  The i-Ready Diagnostic is also administered 3 times a year in both reading and math is used to measure student proficiency.  SchoolCity is also used to monitor student progress in first and second grades in both subject areas.  Kindergarten students complete the Letter Names and Letter Sounds assessment 4 times a year.

Parent Needs
Every year the Title 1 Department provides a comprehensive 45 question survey which is sent to parents via our school website, paper copies, and surveys sent through text messaging.  Last year, 187 parents completed this survey.  The results are used to determine areas of improvement of the current year.  Surveys given in the 2017-2018 school year; Title I parent survey, Parent Stakeholder/Student/Teacher Stakeholder Surveys, and Val-Ed Teacher Surveys.  At every parent night event parents complete a survey in which they are asked to evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided.
