Title I Requirements
COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.
Teachers and administrators at Coral Cove Elementary planned during summer months to review and analyze the school's yearly data. Each grade-level, K-5, had 10 hours to adjust pacing guides in order to meet the needs of students as evidenced on the FSA and End of Year assessments. Teams were able to plan vertically and align content from grade-level to grade-level. Further, teachers analyzed academic achievement results in all core subjects and subgroups including race, gender, economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities, and English as a New Language students.

Recruitment, retention and development of quality teachers is a top priority at Coral Cove Elementary. Teachers are cultivated and nurtured at Coral Cove Elementary to grow professionally. We retain high qualified, certified in-field, effective teachers in our school by utilizing the New Educator Support System (NESS), Professional Learning Communities (academic coaches), District Trainings (District Personnel), School-based Professional Development team (Team Leaders/ Leadership Team), Teacher Recognition.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Coordination and Integration
Title I, Part A
Title I funds provide additional teachers to assist students, particularly low performing students.
Coral Cove uses Title 1 funds to provide additional teachers to assist students, particularly low-performing students, with additional academic support during the instructional day. Title 1 funds are used to provide professional development for teachers of reading, math and science to increase student achievement, motivate students and assist parents with helping their children at home. Furthermore, Title 1 funds are used to provide instructional material and technology software to increase students' academic successes.

Students identified as Migrant students will be connected to the school social worker through the Student Services Department who will provide support and community resources.

Title II
(District professional development)
Coral Cove Elementary participates in district professional development workshops, in differentiated instruction and academic standards and benchmarking training. Teachers also participate in district-developed workshops in the implementation and use of the Continuum of Literacy.

Title III
(ESOL)
English Language Learners are instructed in the subject area of reading five times per week by a certified ESOL instructor who also serves as a support facilitator for ELL in their other core classes.

Students identified as homeless will be connected to the school social worker through the Student Services Department who will provide support and community resources.

Supplemental Academic Instruction (SAI)
Supplemental Academic instruction fund will not be used.

Violence Prevention Programs
Coral Cove Elementary offers a non-violence and anti-drug program to students that include field trips, community services, and counseling. Coral Cove Elementary implements the Broward County Student Code of Conduct and follows the Discipline Matrix as they relate to the welfare of all students. Our school enforces the District's Anti-Bullying Policy and has zero tolerance for bullying and violence. Bullying Prevention programs are supported through our Guidance Department and students assemblies.

Nutrition Programs
Nutritional programs and health education are an integral part of our Physical Educational curriculum. The school offers a free nutritional breakfast in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.

Students identified with housing concerns will be connected to the school social worker through the Student Services Department who will provide support and community resources.

Coral Cove does not have a Head Start Program.

Pre-School Transition
Pre-School Transition
Coral Cove Elementary services on Integrated PreK ESE. The teachers conduct vertical articulation meetings during the school year to ensure that the transition from the early childhood programs to kindergarten program is smooth. A Kindergarten orientation session is also held prior to the beginning of the school year. This gives the incoming kindergarten students an opportunity to meet their new teacher and get acclimated to their classroom. Additionally, parents are given an overview of the kindergarten curriculum and expectations

Parent Involvement Goal:
Based on the analysis of the parent involvement data, identify and define an area in need of improvement.
The goal of Coral Cove Elementary is to increase parental involvement in school events to at least 45% for the 2018-2019 school year. This is an increase of 10% from last year.
