Title I Requirements

COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.

2018 Florida Standards Assessment data was organized into a table and analyzed to determine trends in student achievement for 2017-2018, as well as compared to previous years. Data was discussed with school staff and individual teachers to determine needs and create goals for the 2018-2019 school year.

Parent input was also included throughout the process.  Parent surveys are sent home each year to obtain parent input about school processes.  Parents are also invited to meet with administration to provide further input.  Parent input is combined with school student achievement data to determine goals and objectives for school improvement.

Instruction by HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS in all core content area classes

At Hollywood Park Elementary School, teachers are encouraged to grow professionally through professional development opportunities throughout the year. We also have a Literacy Coach and Math Coach on staff who model/teach lessons, observe classrooms and provide teachers with feedback. Teachers participate in Professional Learning Communities where they collaborate and learn from one another, and the Math and Literacy coaches attend PLCs as well. We also implement the Tier new-educator support system to provide teachers new to the field with needed support, as well as veteran teachers that are new to the school.
