Title I Requirements
COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.
2017-18 assessment data from FSA scores, mini assessments, iReady diagnostics were assessed through a variety of data analysis tools. Themes and individual student data was presented to identify the teacher(s) and grade level. Individual student results as well as school wide and similar class data was provided to department heads/PLC facilitators and classroom teachers to review.

Lauderhill 6-12 teachers have been empowered to work smarter not harder; resulting in teachers planning and hosting grade level meetings, volunteering for collaborate with facilitation during professional learning communities, and requesting to share promising practices during professional study days. To reduce teacher attrition, highly qualified teachers at Lauderhill 6-12 engage in department professional learning communities and meetings to address, support, and meet instructional needs. Additionally district personnel have been assigned to departments and individual teachers to meet unique needs to help improve instruction and assessment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Coordination and Integration
Title I, Part A
Title I funds provide additional teachers to assist students, particularly low performing students.
Title 1 funding provided XX additional teachers.
Lauderhill 6-12 teacher utilize Title 1 professional development funds to assist with areas related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment in order to improve teacher and learning. Teachers are supported throughout the year through coaching and feedback from the event coordinator and/or department head. Additional monies are used to support parental involvement activities to increase the connection between teaching and learning with life at home. Monies are used to purchase food and supplies for STEM Family Nights and Literacy Nights.

Title I, Part D
Neglected and Delinquent
Students identified as neglected and/or delinquent will be connected to Lauderhill 6-12's school social worker through the Student Services Department who will provide support and community resources.

Title II
(District professional development)
Lauderhill 6-12 teachers participate in professional development linked to improved student achievement in the Florida State Standards.

Title III
(ESOL)
All students at Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED are being instructed by certified, ESOL endorsed teachers. Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED has employed a paraprofessional who works closely with our ELL population. This staff member impacts all ELL student, delivering support and intervention programs. This staff member serves as liaison between the school and ELL community.

Title X- Homeless

Teachers and staff members are responsible for helping to identify homeless students and referring them to the Homeless Education program offered by the district. The purpose of the Homeless Education Program is to identify homeless students, remove barriers to their education, including school enrollment, provide them with supplemental academic and counseling case management services as well as linkages to their school social worker while maintaining school as the students stable environment.

Supplemental Academic Instruction (SAI)
Supplemental Academic Instruction (SAI) funds are used to assist with the design and delivery of extended learning opportunities on Saturday for students who have been identified with extreme academic needs.

Violence Prevention Programs
Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED implements the County Student Code of Conduct and follows the District Discipline Matrix. Our school enforces the District’s Anti-Bullying Policy and has a zero tolerance for bullying and violence. Bullying prevention programs are supported through Youth Crime Watch, Peer Counseling/Conflict Mediation programs, guest speakers and student assemblies.

Nutrition Programs
Nutrition and wellness are addressed at Lauderhill 6-12 before and after the bells. In addition to breakfast and lunch prepared for over 8oo students, after school supper is offered to all interested and available students. Nutritional programs and health education are an integral part of Lauderhill 6-12l, specifically through the Physical Educational curriculum and federal initiatives of the Broward County Public Schools Food & Nutrition Department.

Housing Programs
Lauderhill 6-12’s registration process provides parents/guardians the chance to disclose a need for housing or food. Besides registration there is a referral process for teachers and staff to identify students/families. Once registered, our registrar refers needy families to our social and family counselor.

Career and Technical Education
Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED (Multilevel Entrepreneurship Design) provides career technical experiences for students from 6th grade through 12th in the areas of engineering, science, technology, and math. Our career and technical education programs are designed with the end in mind-to be job ready at the time of graduation. Members of the Panther Prep Academy strive for Microsoft Certification by demonstrating mastery in Word, Power Point, and Excel. The CS Coding program provides students with authentic experiences in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and SQL languages. The Junior Achievement High School Academy reinforces the areas of financial literacy and the characteristics of an entrepreneur.

Job Training
Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED (Multilevel Entrepreneurship Design) students from 6th grade through 12th have the opportunity to explore the areas of engineering, science, technology, or math within career or college paths. Eighth grade students visit Junior Achievement (JA) Finance Park for an orientation to different career options and participate in related experiences in selected fields. Computer Science students receive weekly guidance on programming activities from software engineers and visit their work site to experience the demands of a computer science job. Students receive feedback from business owners on entrepreneurial related projects and possibly receive an invitation for a work related experience or job internship. Students prepare for job training by participating in financial service activities and experience college options through the College Fair or site visits from recruiters.

Parent Involvement Goal:
Based on the analysis of the parent involvement data, identify and define an area in need of improvement.
The goal of Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED is to increase parental involvement in school events to at least 25% for the 2018-2019 school year. All parent involvement activities will include engaging activities that offer opportunities to learn about student achievement and available resources.
