ATTRACT HIGH-QUALITY, HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS to the school.

The district also has a website used to attract teachers to Broward County based upon regional perks, "Teach Near the Beach" and opportunities to receive benefits beyond a paycheck. WDMS's collaboration with the district is evidenced by participation in Broward Teacher Recruitment Fairs. Vacancies are filled with candidates interviewed at the recruitment fair and referred by the district's instructional staffing department. Retention of teachers is a top priority of our school. Teachers are cultivated and nurtured at WDMS to grow professionally. We retain highly qualified, certified-in-field, effective teachers in our school by utilizing the New Educator Support System (NESS Liaison), Professional Learning Communities (Reading Coach), District Trainings (District Personnel), School-Based Professional Development (Leadership Team / Team Leaders), Teacher Recognition and Incentives (Administration).

We will have ongoing Professional Development for I-Ready.
We are a TIF school, which entails a multi-year continuum of training.  All educators at WDMS has ongoing TIF training, which continue throughout the school year.  Our Project-Based Learning is also an ongoing process of staff development with our 6th grade teachers.
We identify the need for staff development and provide a means to have the teachers attend.

Extended Learning Opportunities for the 2018 - 2019 school year include "during school and after school tutoring."  We strategically selected teachers to address the academic needs of our student population.

Teachers will be provided ongoing training for I-Ready.

As a TIF school, we have a portion of educators who train and collaborate with other schools and district personnel to share best practices.  The focus is equity in the classroom and enhanced instructional practice.

Our ELO funding will be utilized for tutoring during and after school.  Our current plan will have targeted Saturday tutoring sessions beginning in January 2019.
