Title I Requirements

COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT of the entire school (including the needs of migrant children) with information about the academic achievement of children in relation to the state academic content standards.
Describe the process utilized to conduct the comprehensive needs assessment for this school.

The following instruments, procedures, or processes to obtain data were used: Broward District Benchmark Assessments I and II, 2014 FCAT scores, staff
and parent input, School Customer Satisfaction surveys, discipline reports, attendance reports and historic demographic enrollment data.
Members of the Administrative Support Team, Department Head Leadership Team, ESE Specialist, ELL School Based Contact, Guidance Director, and
School Advisory Council reviewed data for curriculum trends in both aggregate and disaggregated formats.Trends and areas of strength and weakness are
noted and action plans identified in the School Improvement Plan are implemented to target specific needs. Targeted areas include strategies to teach higher
order thinking skills and problem-solving. Staff development to support these skills include differentiated instruction and flexible grouping.
Data was organized to show the individual teacher, grade level, and school-wide results. Individual student results were given to classroom teachers for their
review. Teachers analyzed academic achievement results in all core subjects and subgroups including race; gender; economically disadvantaged; students
with disabilities (ESE); English Language Learners (ELL); and lowest 25th percentile (all subjects tested). Teachers work in groups--to write specific goals
and objectives in all subject areas to improve student achievement.
In addition, changing demographics of the school, identified an increase in students enrolled speaking another language. Strategies to meet students and
their families' needs are paramount for this school's success. The school is in process of increasing bi-lingual staff, providing parent hand-outs in Spanish,
Haitian Creole and English and scheduling interpreters for parent conferences.
