What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

The RTI team needs to actively engage families in the RTI process and encourage them to be part of the decisions to help support their child academically, behaviorally, and socially-emotionally.

What are we going to do about it?

To increase their involvement in RTI decisions, parents will be formally invited to participate in the RTI meeting to address the student's concerns with the collaborative RTI team.

Action Plan

Parent letters will be mailed home inviting them to attend an RTI meeting to discuss their child's concerns that requires a parent response.
Parent letters will be mailed home informing them that their child has been referred to RTI and may need additional support and interventions in the area of concern expressed.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will keep track of the frequency of RTI parent invite and notification forms that are mailed home to monitor our success.

What elements will be addressed?

Data are used to identify reasons why students are not meeting expectations

Why is it occuring?

The RTI team and teachers need additional training in appropriate sources they can use to collect progress monitoring data that will give our team additional insight into understanding the problems the students are experiencing academically, behaviorally, or socially-emotionally.

What are we going to do about it?

The data collection process needs to be more streamlined so that the RTI team can work together more effectively and efficiently to provide interventions to students in need.

Action Plan

The school-wide PD team will plan and design professional development for teachers and the RTI team to educate them on the different tools for collecting progress monitoring data related to the area of concern. As part of that PD, they will be trained on interpreting the data to identify patterns or trends in the student's academic performance or behavior and determine appropriate interventions.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The RTI team will be expected to document and share evidence of data collected on their assigned RTI students after receiving to training to enusre that the PD had the desired effect.
