What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

  • Lack of communication through multiple communication mediums (web, flyers, brochures, email).
  • Families are not consistently engaging in the RtI problem solving process by attending CPS/RtI meetings.

What are we going to do about it?

The Collaborative Problem Solving team will send parent informational letters and invtite parents/guardians to meetings when appropriate for problem solving at all tiers. Teachers will discuss students data across all tiers of instruaction and intervention during parent/guardian conferences and inform parents regularly of student progress.  Parent participation by conference calls at the bare minimum.

Action Plan

1. PBIS will be intorduced to parents during Open House.  PBIS team will send out a parent brochure acquainting families to the Tier 1 PBIS Stars plan.
 
 2. MTSS family brochures will be sent out to families and will be made readily available to parents/guardians though multiple communication platforms, ie. web, front office, email, etc. 
 
3.Parents/ guardians will be invited to attend RtI Tier 2 and Tier 3 meetings.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Completion of BASIS RtI forms- communication and collaboration tab
SAM score for the 2018-19 school year

Three Tiered Instructional /Intervention Model

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 behavior practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

Training and ongoing coaching support is needed in all tiers of PBIS; specifically in behavioral assessments, problem solving process, providing interventions with  fidelity, progress monitoring and collecting/analyzing behavioral data.

What are we going to do about it?

External coaching support will support training with problem solving, researched-based behavioral practices, interventions and progress monitoring. Internal team level case managers will provide ongoing coaching support to teachers with behavioral practices at all tiers of instruction/ intervention.
 
Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) team will invite teachers to participate in bi-monthly RtI meetings to discuss students who are in need of supplemental and intensive behavioral supports.  

Action Plan

1. CHAMPS Training using District Model to address Tier 1 behavior at the school-wide level.
 
2. Training on Tier 2 and Tier 3 RtI for behavior including collecting/ analyzing data, providing behavior interventions within the classroom and progress monitoring (district trainers)
 
3. CPS Team/Case managers will provide coaching and modeling of behavioral practices

Classroom walkthroughs, RTI referrals & data collected using BASIS-office discipline referrals, observations through coaching

What elements will be addressed?

Effective data tools are used appropriately and independently by staff

Why is it occuring?

Teachers have access to but are not consistently utilizing data tools to make informed decisions ie. BASIS, i-Ready, BAS

What are we going to do about it?

Initial BASIS training has been provided to faculty. Ongoing coaching to support existing teachers and new faculty members is needed as well as program usage and data checks conducted by leadership and PBIS Team for behavior a minimum of quarterly.  iReady quarterly PD

Action Plan

PBIS Team and Leadership/RTI team will pull BASIS data (office discipline referrals, disproportionality data, FSA, BAS), i-Ready data to review at PBIS and RTI meetings. PBIS team leaders and RTI case managers will work with teachers to begin the problem solving process and get these students referred to the CPT/RTI team for further problem solving and data analysis.
