What elements will be addressed?

Staff have consensus and engage in MTSS Implementation

Why is it occuring?

Last school year there were several new teachers at Sunset Lakes. In addition, teachers moved to new teams. Teachers were going through many curriculum changes and needed additional time to adjust and get to know each other. 

What are we going to do about it?

We will focus on collaborating and team building. Teams will work towards improving their communication and collaboration skills through weekly team meetings, PLC's, and Sunshine staff events. Furthermore the Leadership team will meet with administration in order to ensure that all staff members receive pertinent information.

What elements will be addressed?

Staff understand and have access to data sources

Why is it occuring?

One reason this is occurring is staff turnover. We had several new staff members during the 2017/2018 school year that will need additional training during the 2018/2019 school year. In addition, we have implemented several new data collections tools. Staff will need additional training in how to access student data. 

What are we going to do about it?

Staff will be trained on how to access and use the new data collection tools. In addition, grade level data chats will be held to discuss student data and progress. The math and reading coaches will also provide assistance to teachers who need additional support analyzing and using student data to drive their instruction. Teachers will also meet in PLC's and use data to determine effectiveness. 

Action Plan

The action plan includes grade level data chats with administration and support staff, PLC meetings, and additional training and support for teachers who are new to Sunset Lakes Elementary.
