What elements will be addressed?

Coaching is used to support MTSS implementation

Why is it occuring?

In the analysis of the Self-Assessment, it is evident that professional development is an effective method of training staff to prepare for the implementation of the MTSS. The inception of our first year (2017-2018) included professional development for staff and in our current year, we are expanding the coaching of students deemed at risk.

What are we going to do about it?

The numbers of students and mentors will be increased in the mentoring program. In addition to this increase, we will be including an administrative specialist and guidance counselors.

Action Plan

1. Students will be identified for the program by the RTI team using specific criteria. The criteria includes tenth graders with the lowest 25% by standardized assessments.
2. Guidance will schedule the students into Study Halls belonging to a mentor. The classes will be separated into Core PASL and PASL study halls depending on the needs of the students. (*PASL - Personalization for Academic and Social Emotional Learning) Core PASL Study Halls will in addition be supplimented using organization strategies, setting goals, completing an interest survey, working on time management skills, listening to guest speakers, and visiting a college campus.
3. Data will be reported routinely into a database through CBHS Sharepoint and analyzed.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The students' GPAs, referral numbers, and attendance will be monitored and analyzed to demonstrate the success of this program.

What elements will be addressed?

Staff have consensus and engage in MTSS Implementation

Why is it occuring?

Teachers are currently trained at the beginning of the school year on the RTI process and how to refer students. Although teachers enter interventions, some are not consistently entering interventions in BASIS and this is an area in need of improvement.

What are we going to do about it?

The RTI contact will present information monthly to leadership team to disseminate to teachers on how to properly document interventions on BASIS as well as and pertinent information relating to the RTI process.

Action Plan

  1. BASIS Interventions instruction sheet will be developed for easy access and use.
  2. Training will be done with Leadership team to intercatively train lead teachers.
  3. Lead teachers will then train faculty via PLCs on dumenting interventions.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

1. Counselors, administrators and Behavior Specialist will see an increase in documented interventions.
2. Through RTI, when cases are reviewed, the team will be able to determine documented interventions and will take note when none are reflected and follow up with the teacher.
