What elements will be addressed?

Staff have consensus and engage in MTSS Implementation

Why is it occuring?

Staff has a difficult time implementing interventions and identifying appropriate interventions.

What are we going to do about it?

Currently we are identifying the students who need intervention and the appropriate interventions.  We are in the process of developing a plan of gradual release so that the classroom teachers are identifying their students and the appropriate intervention for each student.

Action Plan

Meeting with grade levels to discuss student needs.  Data chats with individual teachers to discuss student needs.  Discussions on flexible grouping and the identification of student needs with ongoing assessments.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor by observing the transition to full ownership of MTSS implementation in the 2019 - 2020 grade year by the classroom teachers.

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 1 academic practices clearly identify learning standards

Why is it occuring?

Tier 1 issues including standards based mathematics lessons using small group differentiated instruction is the focus this year.  The learning gain data and the iObservation data is confirming that teachers need to develop strategies on how to differentiate Tier 1 instruction so that students are mastering concepts and less students need Tier 2 interventions.

What are we going to do about it?

The curriculum coach and the resource teacher are providing specific support to teachers in various grade levels.  Additionally, many teachers are being identified to attend training in Cadre 10 groups on various dates through Sept and Oct.  Admin will complete informal walkthroughs to provide feedback on best practices.  Individual conferences will occur if teachers need specific support.  Teachers monitor iReady reports for growth.

Action Plan

Sept / Oct will include training and support from coach and resource teacher
Nov / Dec after implementation - admin will provide feedback through walkthroughs
Jan / Feb - monitoring of implementation

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will measure our initial impact using BSA scores in Jan & Feb
Using this data, we will further outline specific teachers who need support with math differentiation
We will measure growth as indicated by iReady Diagnostic Reports
