What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

The RTI process is not being communicated effectively with every family that is brought up during CPST.

What are we going to do about it?

Letters from BASIS will be sent home to every parent of every student who is referred to the MTSS/RTI process.

Action Plan

  • Student is referred to RTI
  • School Counselor will initiate letter in BASIS explaining the RTI process
  • Letter will be mailed home to the parent(s)/guardian(s).
  • Copy of letter will be kept in a file with the RTI Team Leader

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Quarterly checks will be made to ensure that all letters have been sent home.  Any parent who was not informed will be mailed a letter.

Effective data tools are used appropriately and independently by staff

Why is it occuring?

Teachers have access to data tools, however, are not effectively utilizing the data.

What are we going to do about it?

Provide Professional Development Trainings for department heads on not only access to data tools, but usage.  Department Chairs will then train their individual departments.

Action Plan

The Instructional Support Facilitor, Dr. Miriam Gayle, will provide training to the Department Chairs.
Department Chairs will then provide training on access to data tools and usage to staff.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Each Department Chair and Administrator will monitor teacher usage and implementation of data tools through department meetings and PLCs.
