What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team actively engages in ongoing professional development

Why is it occuring?

  • Our leadership team provides opportunities for staff to offer suggestions for future professional development topics. These recommendations are presented to the school’s Faculty Council and then collectively topics are selected for trainings to offer the staff. We would like to develop a plan for gaining teacher feedback in more intentional ways, so we can create a professional learning calendar based on the needs of the staff as it relates to providing high-quality instruction and supporting the implementation of the MTSS process.

What are we going to do about it?

  • Our leadership team will create a needs assessment to gather information about the staff’s knowledge of the MTSS process, their practices for designing varied intervention plans and monitoring student response to interventions, and their preferences for professional development offerings.
  • Case managers will meet with teams to provide specific strategies

Action Plan

  • First, the leadership team will create a needs assessment such as a survey using SurveyMonkey. The survey will be reviewed at the Team Leader meeting on October 16th to share the rational and procedures for completing the survey within grade level team meetings. Teachers will complete the needs assessment at their next team meeting, so the leadership can collectively create a staff development calendar. Planning ahead for 2019/20, a needs assessment will be conducted in May.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • The leadership team will re-administer the needs assessment survey in the middle and end of the school year to continue to monitor the staff’s needs as it relates to staff development to support the MTSS process. Feedback will be used to determine the effectiveness of our action plan and develop next steps to continue to strengthen the professional learning within the school.

What elements will be addressed?

Data sources are used to evaluate the fidelity and impact

Why is it occuring?

  • Our Collaborative Problem-Solving Team (CPST) currently uses the RtI Referral panel in Basis to facilitate the scheduling of shared discussions about student progress and interventions provided. To improve the implementation of the MTSS, we will use sources to evaluate the critical elements of the process.

What are we going to do about it?

  • We will develop a schoolwide plan, so we can begin utilizing data sources to evaluate the fidelity and impact of MTSS within our school.

Action Plan

  • Initially we will schedule a meeting with our MTSS Instructional Facilitator to begin developing a plan. During this time, our Support Staff will determine the assignments of Case Managers that will be responsible for collaborating with teachers to monitor student progress at regular intervals. The Case Managers will collectively discuss student growth to determine appropriate next steps.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • Monitoring the impact of interventions on student performance will measure the success our of Action Plan implementation. Student data such as i-Ready Diagnostics, Benchmark Assessment System screenings, and RtI graphs will be analyzed by the CPS Team at in November, February, and April during Support Staff meetings.
