What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

Eagle Point continues to receive an influx of families migrating to Weston from Venezuela and other South American countries, throughout the school year, which increases the necessity for parent communication.

What are we going to do about it?

Eagle Point will increase communication of school purposes and direction with all stakeholders through parent meetings, parentlink, newsletters, school website, PTA meetings, and faculty meetings.  An ESOL night will be held for all parents to address questions and give answers.  Earlier this year, an ESOL parent meeting was held for all parents new to the school in which they were given information on all aspects of the school.  All parents and students new to the school are given personalized tours to acclimate and familiarize them with their new surroundings.   Many events are held throughout the year to promote a sense of community.

Action Plan

An ESOL night will be held for all parents to address questions and give answers.  Earlier this year, an ESOL parent meeting was held for all parents new to the school in which they were given information on all aspects of the school.  All parents and students new to the school are given personalized tours to acclimate and familiarize them with their new surroundings.  Additional events are held throughout the year to promote a sense of community. What elements will be addressed?

Tier 1 academic practices clearly identify learning standards

Why is it occuring?

Teachers are not consistently using the continuum and Benchmark Assessment (BAS) to drive Tier 1 instruction.  Teachers are not knowledgeable in the deconstructed standards.

What are we going to do about it?

Leadership team will ensure that all teacher's have completed district training in BAS implementation.  The literacy coach will provide trainings on how to use the continuum and set goals for lesson planning. PLC meetings will focus on the deconstructed standards and understanding the vocabulary of each level and the expected student outcome.  Learning scales must be posted on board, visible to students and aligned wtih lesson plans and teaching in the classroom.

Action Plan

  • Grade level PLC meetings deconstructing the standards
  • Team Meetings scheduled with priority to analyze continuum and share best practices
  • Grade level data chats to analyze Tier 1 instruction is aligned with SIP goals

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • Classroom Observations
  • Measure our success by Self Assessment of Multi Tiered System of Supports (SAM) domain average increases
