Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

Silver Lakes educators engage famiies in ongoing communication about student progress, however, we continuously working on ensuring parents are informed throughout the RtI process on their child's progress and response to interventions. Additionally, MTSS committee's goal is to  increase the number of parents participating in the MTSS process.

What are we going to do about it?

Educators will participate in Response to Interventions training, specific RtI process forms and procedures will be put in place to ensure parents are informated throughout the process. Conference forms will be reviewed to ensure appropariate language informing parents of MTSS will be included. A parent night addressing MTSS process with detailed information will be scheduled in Nov.

Action Plan

Additionally, MTSS Committee will plan specific days throughout the month to target and structure meetings to include parent participation. 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

During PLC meetings, Data Chat, and MTSS meetings, educators will be asked to provide parent conferences communicating of the MTSS process to parents.
MTSS committee will review all caseload quarterly to esure parents were invited to particiapte in the process.

Student progress specific to academic or behavior goals are monitored

Why is it occuring?

Educators attempt to implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions with fidelity despite scheduling difficulties. Progress is being monitored using iready, BAS, cold reads, and other data sources, however, greater emphsis needs to be placed on modifying interventions if students are not responding to the intervention and ensuring to communicate with MTSS committee in a timely manner regarding intervention effectiveness.

What are we going to do about it?

Instructional Coaches will continue to offer support to educators regarding research based interventions. Case managers will be assigned to grade levels to ensure close monitoring of students in RtI. Bi monthly RtI meetings will also ensure teachers review student data and make educational decisions accordingly.
