Why is it occuring?

We do not have a specific data source we utilize to look at various groups.

What are we going to do about it?

We are streamlining our data evaluation to ensure that we have data sources that provide us with the detailed information we need included performance across diverse groups.

Action Plan

1) Determine all of the various sources of data utilized by school staff that address all student groups.
2) Conduct a needs assessment to determine what data we actually need.
3) Align the data we have to our needs and eliminate those that do not provide us with the information we need.
4) Train teachers how to use the data effectively.
5) Create a system to collect the data and have data chats with teachers.
6) Create a data collection process that provides frequent progress monitoring of diverse student groups.

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 behavior practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

Teachers have been consistently focusing on academic interventions and are not as familiar with strategies on how to provide students with the necessary behavior supports they need to be successful.

What are we going to do about it?

We are going to train teachers on various behavior interventions to utilize in the classroom and send staff to trainings to support their professional learning.

Action Plan

1) During our montly staff meetings, the leadership team and guidance counselor with provide training on a behavior intervention that can be utilized for Tier 2 within the classroom.
2) Those staff members that have not attended CHAMPS training will be shown where the modules are on the Diversity and Prevention Website.
3) The Social Emotional Learning Lab will be utilized to help teach students coping and management strategies to utilize within the classroom.
4) The Annual Guidance Plan will focus on providing individual support to teachers when a student does not respond to the Tier 1 Behavior Plan in the classroom.
5) Response to Intervention and the Collaborative Problem Solving Team will develop strategies and plans on an individual basis to support the teacher and student.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

1) Review discipline referrals.
2) Track student progress through the RtI process.
3) Keep sign-in sheets and review PD records to ensure teachers are present at meetings.
4) Monitor the monthly activities within the Annual Guidance Plan.
5) Track the progress of student behavior within the classroom that are seen individually or in groups with the school counselor.

Classroom teachers and support staff utilize too many different sources of data.  It is difficult to keep track of all of it.

What are we going to do about it?

We are going to review all of our data sources and streamline the ones we use that provide us with the data we actually need to use to make informed decisions for student growth.
