What elements will be addressed?

Professional development and coaching provided to staff

Why is it occuring?

Tier 1 instruction has been a challenge since we analyzed our BAS and FSA data for 2017-2018 school year. Since we have shifted to standard based instruction with balance literacy with in our new standards the need for further training in small group instruction has been identified.

What are we going to do about it?

Strengthen the core curriuclulm for tier All teachers are required and enrolled in the district's small group instruction training. We are highly recommending BAS Booster, Responsive Literacy, Balance Literacy, and LLI.

Action Plan

1. Enrolled teachers for district small group instruction.
2. Tracking staff development on database.
3. PLCs planned on data analysis and student needs.
4. Provide the staff with support and provide tiered cycle of assistance as they implement PD strategies.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

75%-80% of students at Sandpiper ES will have mastered the core curriculum.

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

Parents needs to be more engaged in students learning and social emotional being.

What are we going to do about it?

Parents will be invited to RTI meetings to engage families in problem solving when their children need additional supports.
RTI and MTSS procedures will be explained at SAC and PTA meetings.

Action Plan

1. Actively engage families that represent the diverse population of the school.
2. Provide intensive outreach to unresponsive families.
3. Increase the skills of families to support their children's education.
4. Provide translations of all school communication.
5. Provide family academic nights.
 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Through parent sign in sheets and attendance at RTI meetings.
