What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

We are struggling to meet the needs of our changing diverse population at Riverside.  Our staff is having difficulty with the changing population in ways to effectively communicate.

What are we going to do about it?

We are seeking additional avenues to communicate with parents.  We will request interpretors more often and request assistance from other departments.  We also will vary our hours for conferences as well as seek additional methods for daily communication such as REMIND, Facebook, Parent Link, etc. as needed.

Action Plan

1. Share information with staff members on how to access interpretors for conferences.
2. Make requests for assistance as needed for communication; from ESE, RtI, Social Work Departments, etc.
3. Communicate to families in a wider variety of methods, including sending notices home in various languages, sending weekly Parent Links, DOJO in various languages, planner notes, Facebook reminders,  monthly calendars, quarterly newsletters, etc.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Our goal is to increase interaction with parents , as evidenced by 2 conferences for the year as well as increased attendance at school activities.

Goal Average
For 2018 - 2019
2.25
What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 behavior practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

Tier 2 behavior practices are  not clearly aligned directly to Tier 1 instruction, due to academic content concerns and social emotional needs of a changing diverse population.

What are we going to do about it?

We will monitor student progress across all grade levels, including specific subgroups both academically and social emotionally.  Ongoing training, conversation and PLC's will focus on small group academic and social emotional standards based instruction to meet indivdual needs.

Action Plan

1. Review schoolwide behavior management plan
2. Review individual classroom management plans
3. Classroom walk throughs from support staff with direct feedback on behavior and how learning is impacted
4. Weekly RtI meetings to discuss student behaviors that impact instruction
5. Staff development on SEL standards, lesson and specific programs as well LEAPS lessons

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Students increasing on task behaviors with constructive feedback observed during walk throughs.  Follow ups from RtI meetings show increased on task behaviors and student achievement.
