What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team facilitates PD on multi-tiered instruction and intervention

Why is it occuring?

Teachers are learning to implement the foundational skills needed to provide intervention with fidelity.  The professional development that was provided did not focus on how to use the intervention resources to fidelity and progress monitor them effectively.

What are we going to do about it?

We will:

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of the MTSS team (teacher, academic coaches, ESE specialist, guidance counselor, administration,etc.).
  •  Provide and/or recommend professional development on Tier 1 instruction and  the intervention resource that will be used and identify a lead person on each team.
  • Use intervention resources that can be used across the grade levels that identifies and focuses on the needs of the students and provides Teacher Directed Lessons that are easily accessible and provide progress monitoring  that can be used to fidelity.

Action Plan

The ELA and math coach will provide support to teachers who need assistance with multi-tiered instruction and progress monitoring.
Coaches will:

  • Model interventions
  • Observe interventions and provide feedback
  • Use data to provide feedback on multi-tiered instruction
  • Use data to provide or suggest professional development
Support Staff will  provide small group and/or one-on-one instruction on analyzing data for progress monitoring and multi-tiered instruction.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • A binder will be keep with RTI meeting notes.
  • Classroom teachers will upload the data into BASIS
  • Data will be reviewed to determine effectiveness of the intervention
  • PLC meeting notes will reflect data review and next steps for multi-tiered instruction
