School Name Pinewood ES (2811) School Year 2018 - 2019 A strategic plan for MTSS implementation is developed Last year, a MTSS Implementation plan was created as part of the School’s Improvement Plan. A strategy was devised to engage more families in the early stages of problem- solving and a greater effort was made to invite parents to Collaborative Problem Solving Team meetings. However, the team did not provide enough PD opportunities used to build capacity of the MTSS framework or develop processes to monitor implementation fidelity of critical elements of MTSS. The team plans to create more PD opportunities addressing critical elements of MTSS, especially 3-Tier Instruction and the Intervention model. In addition, the team will review student academic, behavioral and social emotional outcomes on a more frequent basis. The team will also review MTSS policies and procedures and decide ways in which the team can improve their practices. The Collaborative Problem Solving Team will review student records, utilizing BASIS, quarterly and discuss additional supports that will be provided to students responding questionably or poorly to instruction and intervention. In addition, the SAM survey will also be used as a reference guide during Leadership team meetings scheduled during the first and second semesters to discuss MTSS implementation. In addition, the SAM survey will also be used as a reference guide during Leadership team meetings scheduled during the first and second semesters to discuss MTSS implementation. Social and emotional data will be reviewed in BASIS and used to determine plans that must be put in place to support targeted students. Staff and teachers will explicitly instruct students on social and emotional behaviors and skills that link to Tier 1 academic content/instruction. The team will utilize the BASIS Behavior dashboard to identify specific students, grade levels, and/or teachers in need of interventions and additional supports. The School-based Leadership team will conduct non-evaluative observations of lessons and lesson plans to ensure implementation and provide constructive feedback.
