What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team actively engages in ongoing professional development

Why is it occuring?

Based on the feedback from the teachers, they are able to follow along during the RtI training but somehow forgets by the time they are able to perfom the steps. Some have requested a refresher course on the initial training. 

What are we going to do about it?

The team is prepared to provide consistent staff development trainings and to utilize various strategies to monitor progress.

Action Plan

The team will utilize days such as PSD and or Early Release to provide staff developmentg on the implementation of RtI.
Follow up trainings, which will begin with a 'refresher segment', will also include individual tutorials.
Between each training,  follow-up/ anonymolus surveys will also be provided in efforts of monitoring growth and understanding.
Communication with department chairs will also be utilized for progress monitoring. 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The success will be measured by the results of teachers surveys, follow-up at preceding professional development training, and the accuracy pertaining to the emplentation of RtI strategies and referrals.

Building the Capacity/Infrastructure for Implementation

What elements will be addressed?

Coaching is used to support MTSS implementation

Why is it occuring?

An initial training has been provided, which included step by step instructions, visual aids and modeling, some teachers are requesting a refresher course. 

What are we going to do about it?

The Rti team has discussed their concerns and have discussed  various ways to implement coach ing and progress monitoring.

Action Plan

In addition to the concurrent staff development trainings, a group training and follow up sessions will be provided during dept. chair meetings. The communication with dept. chairs will suffice as an extra step in ensuring that tecahers throughly understand the Rti process. The refresher segment during department chair meetings will then be shared in department meetings. 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The success will be monitired and measured based on the feedback during the refgreesher segments during the staff developments and department chair meetings.

Three Tiered Instructional /Intervention Model

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 1 behavior practices identify school-wide expectations

Why is it occuring?

Although school wide behavior expectations are in place, there has been concerns regarding the lack of consistancy in emplemenataton of these expectations.

What are we going to do about it?

The discipline, administartion, and security team have met on ways of decreasing the amount of disciplinary and attendance infractions.
Various strategies such as emplementing a HERO system to assist with attendance, utilizing student/team/ parent conferences and internal supension, and teacher accountability will be used to maintain consistency pertaining to school-wide expectations.
 

Action Plan

Regarding infractions pertaining to attendance:
     1. A school-wide HERO is now in place to hold students accountable for tardies. Students are not allowed in class until they have been scanned in to the HERO system. Stations are located throughout the campus for student accessibility. 
     2. Teachers are submitting referrals for students with excessive absences.
     3. A system is now in place to distribute consequences based on the amount of infractions.
     4. Parent conferences are consistently made for students with excessive and ongoing infractions.
Regarding infractions concerning discipline:
     1. Student and team conferences are utilized to deter future infractions.
      2. Internal Suspension is consistently utilized for minor infractions.
     1. Behavior and reassignment contracts are utilized in parent conferences for students with excessive infractions.
      2. A DAP and parent conference must take place when the student arrives back from a promise suspension.
Teachers are receiving classroom management as needed and are held accountable for inconsistencies regarding school-wide expectations.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The HERO system and attendance referrals will be used to monitor attendance.
Tools such ass BASIS, TERMS, and teacher feedback will be ustilized to monitor disciplinary infractions.
The consistency of school-wide expectations will be monitored by addressing teacher/staff accountability.
