Professional development and coaching provided to staff

Why is it occuring?

Last year, PLC was self-directed and focused on improving an teacher identified area.  Little time was incorporated for a systematic study of the assessment data and how it could drive instruction.

What are we going to do about it?

ATC has incorporated into the PLC calendar dedicated time to address these needs. In addition, ATC has hired a Testing Coordinator with knowledge and experience in procedures, assessment data, and tracking.

Action Plan

1.  The Testing Coordinator will utilize professional development time to offer more comprehensive, ongoing training in the administration of assessments and the data produced by these assessments.
2.  The high school administrator will compile tracked data, analyze the reults, and share with faculty.
3.  Once per month PLC with the instructional team with ongoing coaching on instructional practices and interpreting assessment results.
4.  Additional ongoing coaching is being provided by the Math Leader and Literacy Coach to classroom teachers on instructional practices geared towards improving student competency on given assessments.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

ATC will monitor and measure our succes through:  PLC attendance, Canvas participation, implementation of classroom products utilizing instructional practices and assessment data embedded in classroom instructional practices.
